When I read Peace, the symbolism of the “figs” really stood out to me. To me, the figs represented fragile moments of comfort or hope in a world filled with conflict. Just like figs are delicate and easily bruised, the peace the characters experience feels temporary and vulnerable. I saw the figs as a reminder that even in times of war or personal struggle, there are small, sweet things worth holding on to—but they don’t last forever, so you have to appreciate them while you can.
