The biological working memory is the small amount of information that can be held in mind and used in the execution of cognitive tasks. For example, when someone tells you his phone number, the information can be kept in your mind for a few seconds so that you have time to write it down. Working memory is closely tied to intelligence. A study indicates that the working memory test is 3 to 4 times more accurate than the traditional IQ test in predicting grades in spelling, reading, and math (reference).
