KeymasterHi everyone! I’m a high school student trying to decide which field I should pursue in college. There are so many options, and I’m having trouble narrowing it down. Could you share some insights or advice about the following fields:
-
Computer & Internet – Is it a good choice if I love technology and coding?
-
Mathematics – Does it open up a lot of career opportunities?
-
Engineering – How challenging is it, and what industries can I work in after graduation?
-
Business – Is it a broad field, and how easy is it to find jobs after finishing a degree?
-
Biology – What types of jobs can you get with a biology degree besides research?
-
Medicine – How long is the journey to becoming a doctor, and is it worth it?
-
Humanity – What does this field really encompass, and what careers can it lead to?
-
Physics & Chemistry – Are there specific career paths for someone with this major?
I would really appreciate hearing about your experiences or thoughts on these fields. Thanks for your help!

GuestHey!
So I’ve always been super into tech and coding, and I’d say going into Computer & Internet stuff is definitely a great choice if that’s your passion. It’s such a broad field that can lead to so many opportunities in software development, cybersecurity, data science, and even game development. Plus, the demand for skilled tech people is only growing! If you’re into solving problems and building things from scratch, this could be an awesome fit for you. And don’t worry too much about knowing everything right away. College will teach you the basics, and then you’ll just keep building on that as you go. Coding is something you can get better at with practice!

GuestHey there!
As someone who’s studied a lot of math, I can definitely say it opens up a lot of doors. A degree in mathematics can lead to roles in finance, data analysis, engineering, and even teaching. Plus, it’s an incredibly versatile field—math skills are in demand in almost every industry. It can be challenging because it requires a strong logical mindset, but if you enjoy problem-solving, you might find it really rewarding. A lot of people think it’s all about equations, but it’s actually about finding solutions to complex problems, which can be really exciting. Just know that it’s not always the easiest, but the career possibilities are endless.EngineerJunkie
GuestHey! Engineering is definitely one of the more challenging fields, but it’s also super rewarding. It’s not just about solving problems in the classroom, but figuring out real-world solutions—whether that’s building bridges, designing software, or creating sustainable energy systems. The thing is, engineering opens up a lot of career opportunities, too. You could go into industries like aerospace, civil, mechanical, or even tech. The workload can be tough, and it takes a lot of dedication, but if you enjoy creating things and are ready to put in the effort, it can be a really great career. And the salary is usually pretty solid, too!
