Synthesis of Lipids

Lipid synthesis occurs at the smooth endoplasmic reticulum.  Two examples are shown in Figures 5-E-1 and 5-E-2.  Lipids may be transported to appropriate locations by vesicles or by phospholipid exchange proteins.
