MoBio Biomembranes Chapter 1

All biological membranes, including the plasma membrane and all organelle membranes, contain lipids and proteins. The lipids found in biomembranes are mainly phospholipids and cholesterol. In the plasma membrane and some of organelle membranes, proteins and phospholipids are attached to carbohydrates, forming glycoproteins and glycolipids, respectively.
