Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions
To fully appreciate this novel, one should know "string
theory". According to its braneworld model, our three dimensional space
is embedded in a higher dimensional space (possibly 10 dimensions). The
braneworld model was proposed only a few years ago while this novel was first
published in 1884.
